Did your newborn go through this phase?

My daughter is nine weeks old and she wants to be held CONSTANTLY. I love holding her and cuddling with her, but at the same time I can't just hold her all day, ya know? She'll stay in her swing or bouncer for maybe twenty minutes at a time, but then she cries to be held. Is this just a phase? Do all newborns do this? I know she can't be spoiled at this age and I should hold her if that's what she needs, but could there be an underlying issue or is she just a baby that needs a little extra love?
