Why do most men exhibit either a subconscious or conscious interest in female hair?

uming that the men in question are indeed straight, what is it in female hair that is at times so incredibly arousing. Most of the time, whenever I see men making out with women, I notice that the majority of the men seem to reach for the hair. I also have several friends that love to run their fingers through their girlfriend's hair as 3 well as play with it. One of my friends even got upset with his girl when she bobbed her hair, and that completely annoyed her for the time being. I have even heard of men dumping their girlfriends if they do something drastic to their hair, such as cut it short. On other occasions, I have heard stories of creepy men touching a woman's hair on a bus or subway line. In other cases, the man either desperately wants to style or cut his partner's hair to his liking in ways contrary to his partner's liking. This is interesting considering that some women actually like such treatment, sometimes to the point of , whereas others resent it.
