Big dogs and children?

Seems to me the media has given big dogs bad reputations. My Boxer Bruno is the most gentle dog ever. Very protective over children, very gentle and playful with our kitties. My grandma had poodles and they were mean and aggressive, I think each dog is unique to his own character.
