What type of food to serve at wedding, the bride is cooking it all.?

For my wedding I am going to cook all the food... so I dont want anyhting to time consuming but yet I want it to be good... like I thought about chili but it would take awhile to cut up all the onion, tomatos, carrots, and such... we are planning on spending around $200 but would like it cheap as possable, we are thinking so far tail meat, bonless ribs in sauce, I am also making my wedding cake as i dont like store bought cakes.
