Omnicef is a type of cephalosporin, an antibiotic used to treat infections. Omnicef is used to treat skin infections, pneumonia, and can treat other type of infections (urinary tract infections). It is not addictive and the patient must take all of the prescribed antibiotics or risk causing a treatment failure or developing resistance to that antibiotic. Addictive drugs are morphine, codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, valium, xanax, cocaine, etc.
