I'm getting worried about an epidural...anyone given birth with IV meds only?

I've never thought twice about getting an epidural during labor until now. I'm starting to worry about the feeling of not being able to get up and move and of course the risks involved with it. I know there are risks with IV pain meds as well, but I'm wondering if anyone here has gone through labor with this method only and your opinions on it. I don't get dopey/high feeling on narcotics, so I'm not worried about that. I'm just wondering if it will be adequate enough pain relief vs. the epidural. Epidural definitely isn't out of the question, I'm just starting to question which I want to do. Waterbirth and that kind of stuff is definitely out though. Any opinions?
